Award-winning actress Ruby O’Donnell is best known for her 13-year role as Peri Lomax in Channel 4’s flagship soap Hollyoaks. Joining the cast at just 12 years old, viewers quite literally watched Ruby grow up on screen as her character became a central figure in some of the show’s most memorable storylines.


During her time on the serial drama she received the British Soap Award for ‘Best Young Performer’ as well as the Inside Soap Award for ‘Best Young Actor’. Ruby chose to exit the role in October 2025 during the soap’s 30th anniversary special, with her character’s death forming the central storyline of the milestone episode.


Away from scripted television, she has also appeared in a special celebrity edition of Come Dine With Me. Across socials, Ruby maintains a highly engaged audience of over 620K followers, often achieving viral reach with her content thanks to her strong appeal among a younger audience.

Ruby began her professional acting career at just 12 years old when she joined Channel 4’s Hollyoaks as Peri Lomax in 2013. Introduced as part of the Lomax family, the character quickly became a central presence within the show’s ensemble, appearing in hundreds of episodes across more than a decade on screen.


Over the course of her 13-year tenure, Ruby’s portrayal of Peri saw the character involved in a wide range of storylines, from emotional family drama to some of the show’s most hard-hitting narratives. Her performance earned industry recognition early in her career, winning the British Soap Award for ‘Best Young Performer’ as well as the Inside Soap Award for ‘Best Young Actor’. Ruby remained with Hollyoaks through several major eras of the show before choosing to depart in October 2025 as part of the soap’s 30th anniversary special. Her character’s dramatic exit formed one of the central storylines of the milestone episode, bringing to a close one of the longest-running portrayals of a young character in the programme’s history.


Alongside her work on the long-running Channel 4 soap, Ruby has also appeared in special programming connected to the show, including a celebrity Hollyoaks edition of Come Dine With Me featuring members of the cast.


Away from television, Ruby connects with a loyal and highly engaged digital audience across her social platforms. Ruby is in a long-term relationship with fellow Hollyoaks actor Nathaniel Dass, who joined the cast in 2023 and continues to appear in the show.
