Lisa is a drama school–trained actress and singer, best known for her long-running role as Beth Tinker (Sutherland) on ITV’s flagship soap Coronation Street. Prior to landing the role, she appeared in several smaller parts on the show and across popular dramas including The Bill, Emmerdale, Holby City and Casualty. Outside of acting, she reached the quarter finals of ITV’s Dancing on Ice in 2019 and showcased her powerful vocals on ITV’s All Star Musicals, performing as Sally Bowles from Cabaret. A passionate vocalist, she has also released two rockabilly albums and appeared in ITV’s Britain Get Singing on three occasions. Following her diagnosis of NAION, which left her partially sighted, Lisa now proudly advocates for vision loss and supports the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), helping to raise awareness while continuing to engage audiences across television, live performance and digital platforms.

Drama school–trained actress and singer Lisa George built her early television career appearing across a number of popular dramas including The Bill, Emmerdale, Holby City and Casualty, establishing herself as a versatile performer across comedy and drama.
She later went on to land the role she is best known for, joining ITV’s flagship soap Coronation Street in 2011 as the fiery Beth Tinker (Sutherland). Interestingly, the role marked Lisa’s fourth appearance on the show, having previously appeared in three smaller parts before securing the career-defining 13-year role which she exited in 2024.
Alongside her acting career, Lisa has continued to showcase her talents across entertainment formats. In 2019 she joined the cast of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, impressing viewers with her determination and skating ability. Paired with professional skater and TV doctor Tom Naylor, Lisa progressed to the quarter finals and finished in fifth place. That same year she appeared on ITV’s Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, before later reuniting with Dr Tom on BBC’s Pointless Celebrities, where they competed together.
A passionate vocalist, in 2022 she appeared on ITV’s All Star Musicals, performing as Sally Bowles from Cabaret and impressing the judging panel with her performance. Music has long been an important part of Lisa’s career and alongside her acting work she has released two rockabilly albums. She has also taken part in ITV’s Britain Get Singing on three occasions, bringing her vocal talent to the charity entertainment special.
Lisa has appeared across a variety of lifestyle and entertainment programmes, including ITV’s Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House, where she featured in December 2024.
In recent years Lisa has become a passionate advocate for sight loss awareness. Following her diagnosis with NAION (Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischaemic Optic Neuropathy), which has left her partially sighted, she has worked closely with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), helping to raise awareness of visual impairment.
